Job Description

Baylor Scott & White Health seeks an ER Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced emergency department. In this role, you will perform rapid triage, stabilization, and ongoing assessment for diverse patient populations, administer medications and treatments, and assist with emergency procedures and resuscitations. You'll collaborate closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary team, document care in the EMR, and educate patients and families. Responsibilities Provide triage and rapid assessment for emergency patients Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies per protocol Monitor vital signs and patient status, escalating changes promptly Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care plans Perform emergency procedures and assist in resuscitations Document care accurately in the electronic medical record Educate patients and families on treatment and discharge instructions Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards Support quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives Mentor newer nurses and support a collaborative team culture Required Skills Emergency triage and rapid patient assessment IV insertion and medication administration Cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation Wound care and emergency procedures Use of EMR and clinical documentation systems Infection control and safety protocols Care coordination in multidisciplinary teams Patient and family education in crisis settings Critical thinking and clinical decision-making Time management in high-acuity environments
