Scope of Responsibility The Birthing Center RN will also routinely lead the team of care providers. Responsible to Birthing Center Supervisor Education Associates Degree Nurse or Bachelors of Science Nursing Degree Training and Experience Current licensure with the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners Obtains and maintains American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Obtains and maintains ACLS within 6 months of employment EFM and STABLE certifications are required within 6 months of employment if there is prior labor experience EFM and STABLE certifications are required within 1 year of employment if there is no prior labor experience Obtains and maintains American Academy of Pediatrics NRP provider within 4 months of employment Previous experience in maternal/newborn care preferred OB triage duties may be assigned after the employee has completed the EMTALA Qualified Medical Personnel competency or with oversight by an RN who has completed the competency.
