Lead CNC Machinist - Precision Manufacturing Ready to Take the Lead on the Shop Floor? Are you an experienced CNC Machinist with strong leadership skills and a passion for precision manufacturing? We're recruiting on behalf of an established, growing manufacturer seeking a Lead CNC Machinist to play a key role in driving quality, efficiency and continuous improvement across its machining operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys mentoring others, solving complex machining challenges and leading from the front in a modern manufacturing environment. What You'll Be Doing Leading the setup, programming and operation of CNC lathes and machining centres Developing and optimising CNC programs using G-code, M-code and CAM software Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and GD&T Supporting daily production to ensure quality, safety and on-time delivery Troubleshooting machining and tooling issues to minimise downtime Carrying out precision inspection using a range of measuring equipment Coaching, mentoring and developing machinists across the shop floor Driving lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives Creating and improving standard operating procedures (SOPs) Acting as the link between machining, engineering, programming and quality teams What We're Looking For We're keen to hear from experienced CNC Machinists, Lead Machinists, Cell Leaders or Manufacturing Team Leads with a background in precision machining. You'll ideally have experience with: CNC milling and turning Machine setup, programming and process optimisation Fanuc controls and G-code programming CAD/CAM software Reading engineering drawings and applying GD&T Precision inspection using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges and dial indicators Tooling selection, fixture setup and machining best practices Leading, mentoring or supervising machining teams Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement Experience within aerospace, defence, medical devices, automotive or other high-precision manufacturing environments would be highly advantageous.
