Responsibilities Provide direct critical care nursing to ICU patients across Methodist Healthcare facilities as a system resource nurse Rapidly assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient status, implementing appropriate interventions Administer medications, therapies, and advanced treatments per physician orders and ICU protocols Collaborate with intensivists, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for ICU nursing staff, sharing best practices and supporting education Ensure accurate documentation, adherence to safety standards, and compliance with regulatory requirements Support patient and family education on conditions, treatments, and post-ICU care transitions Participate in quality improvement, evidence-based practice initiatives, and performance metrics for ICU care Required Skills Critical care nursing ICU patient assessment and monitoring Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) Ventilator management Hemodynamic monitoring Medication administration in critical care Electronic health record (EHR) documentation Rapid response and code management Central line and arterial line care Infection prevention and control
