1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring an active UT or compact license and prior L&D and nursery experience. Details Hospital-based Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum unit with 8 beds and 19 staff Staffing includes 1 Charge RN and 1 staff RN per shift on both day and night shifts Patient ratios of 2:1 for laboring patients and 4:1 for mother/baby couplets Uses fetal monitoring equipment and Meditech CPN EMR 13-week night shift assignment, 5:00 PM to 5:00 AM, alternating 3 shifts one week and 2 shifts the next Required to work every other weekend On-call responsibilities of 1 shift per week, with potential for 2 calls during weeks with only 2 scheduled shifts Occasional floating to ED or Med/Surg as a sitter Requirements Active RN license (UT or Compact) Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience Required certifications:
ACLS, NRP
(Advanced 9th Edition), STABLE, and CEFM or intermediate/advanced AWHONN fetal monitoring certification AHA or ARC certifications accepted, with none expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment Labor and Delivery experience required Nursery experience required C-section experience preferred No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSNs accepted) One professional reference required for consideration Additional Information Perform deliveries and recovery care for laboring and postpartum patients Conduct newborn testing including CCHD, Newborn Metabolic Screening, Bilirubin, and Hearing Screening Best suited for hardworking candidates who ask questions and support coworkers as needed Hospital provides scrubs for staff Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility, as local candidates will not be considered
