Summary:
The RN - Wound Care is responsible and accountable for the provision of nursing care for assigned patients within the established standards of evidence-based practice and organizational policy and procedures. The RN shall provide patient care that is appropriate to age and developmental level of assigned patients. The RN will appropriately delegate care provision to other members of the nursing care team consistent with role, licensure, and scope of practice. This individual will perform nursing assessments and deliver care as an integral part of the care team. The RN will work toward favorable outcomes while delivering safe high-quality healthcare. Additionally, the RN will accurately report and document in the Electronic Medical Record and electronic documentation systems that support the RN's clinical and team member role. The RN will have a working knowledge of the nursing process and demonstrates skill in developing and guiding collaborative collegial practice that delivers safe competent care. The RN will demonstrate sensitivity and understanding of the diverse cultural backgrounds of our patients and caregivers. The RN is responsible for specialized nursing care for patients with conditions or problems related to ostomies, draining wounds, fistulas, incontinence, pressure ulcers, skin care management and preventive intervention. This nurse functions as a consultant for patients with complex draining wounds, fistulas, pressure ulcer prevention and pressure ulcer care. The RN may work in the inpatient or outpatient setting, and along with other team members, develop a treatment plan to manage or prevent pressure injuries. This individual will manage negative pressure wound therapy, ostomies, and other complex wounds. The RN will also provide education to team members, patients, and family members both at the bedside and in a classroom setting.
Requirements:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nursing program required. Must be able to complete job related competencies as deemed necessary to the performance of the RN role.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid and active RN licensure from appropriate state BLS required
ACLS, PALS, NRP
