1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications with a 100-mile residency radius. Details Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting 1:7 patient ratios Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 18:30-7:00 36/48 rotating night schedule with rotating weekends and holidays No call requirements Floating required while maintaining 1:7 ratios Epic charting system preferred Requirements Active RN license (VA or Compact) required at time of consideration

AHA BLS, AHA

ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required CPI, OCN, and PALS certifications preferred Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred Previous charge nurse experience preferred Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred Skills in IV therapy, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, and phlebotomy Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry Experience with wound care, isolation precautions/PPE, and IV insulin protocols Relias EKG testing required within 72 hours of signing Drug screening must be completed 12-14 calendar days prior to start Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines Additional Information Provide direct patient care within a Med/Surg Tele environment supporting a variety of patient populations Contract nursing staff expected to support nursing student clinical education alongside patient care duties General orientation begins on Sundays with online computer-based learning modules Orientation modules are non-billable and average 4-5 hours Must reside 100 miles or more from the facility's service area; local candidates not accepted First-time travelers are not considered for this position
