  • 15 minutes from Alexandria and Washington, DC As a Nurse Navigator, you'll become the dedicated point of contact for oncology patients, guiding them through every step of their cancer journey.
You'll work side-by-side with a tight-knit, multidisciplinary team focused on delivering seamless, personalized care across the cancer continuum. Why You Should Apply Be part of a mission-driven team focused on holistic cancer care and use your oncology expertise in a patient-centered role Work Monday-Friday, days — no nights, no weekends Provides personalized assistance to patients, families, and caregivers to navigate healthcare system barriers and ensure timely access to quality cancer care in a community oncology setting Utilizes nursing expertise to deliver patient education and connect individuals with appropriate internal and external resources throughout all phases of the cancer journey Facilitates informed decision-making and timely access to comprehensive medical and psychosocial care services Opportunity to mentor and precept junior nurses About You Be able to do the job as described Requires a minimum of 3 years of RN experience, with at least 2 years of oncology experience Familiar with chemotherapy, ports, venipuncture, and central line care RN license in VA and current CPR certification OCN certification or able to obtain BSN or Associates What You'll Be Doing Serve as a central resource for patients, families, and care teams Perform patient assessments and support treatment planning Assist in procedures, access ports, and manage central lines Educate patients across all phases of the cancer journey Collaborate with internal departments and external specialists Document care accurately and communicate effectively with providers Provide backup nursing support to satellite locations as needed Support clinical leadership and mentor other nursing staff
