Great position for someone with hospital experience and strong IV skill who would like to move into a role doing day clinic procedure work. Provides specialized care to donors undergoing peripheral stem cell collection. Three days per week on M-W 7-3 (0.6 FTE or 48 hr per pay period). Performs apheresis stem cell collections, cellular therapy collections, lab work, physical exams, injections, patient instruction quality control preventative maintenance procedures product packing and release. Confirms physician orders for patient procedures, confirms requirements and needs for stem cell collection or cellular therapy product from registries and independent biotherapy companies. Prepares patient and or donor records for distribution as stated in the corresponding SOP's. Assists in maintaining procedures for compliance. Adheres to safety, laboratory, infection control, hazardous waste, and Quality Assurance policies. Attends continuing education meetings and seminars. Orders, receives, and organizes supplies. Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
RN in Virginia or equivalent, One year clinical experience desired not required, experience in a donor center setting or experience with any apheresis equipment/procedures a plus. Good phlebotomy skills required, angiocath experience strongly desired. Current BLS certificate required.
