lab equipment, Emergency Response Cart and AED including related QA and policies. Maintains updated status of several Center documents and manuals. What you will do in this role: Provides services to all Market freestanding imaging centers. Demonstrates expertise in basic nursing skills at the register nurse level. Demonstrates expertise in care of patients experiencing distress, including reactions to contrast media, up to and including anaphylaxis. Possesses sound and thorough operational knowledge of iSTAT equipment and emergency response/resuscitation equipment. Performs quality control procedures and regular inspections of iSTAT and emergency equipment. Reports concerns to supervisor. Monitors compliance with required daily/weekly/quarterly testing and monitoring requirements and uploads for lab and emergency response equipment. Reports concerns to Center Administrator. Reviews and updates the Centers' lab, emergency and nursing related policies and procedures at the direction of the Center Administrator. Reviews and updates Centers' MSDS notebooks quarterly. Reviews the Centers' Exposure Control Plans at direction of the Center Administrator. Conducts and reports BUN/Creatinine testing as applicable. Detects adverse symptomology relating to procedure or contrast related problems. Assesses patients for need of intravenous hydration prior to administration of contrast media. Administers intravenous hydration, providing appropriate documentation and physician notifications. Accesses patient ports when indicated. Provides patient monitoring for indicated procedures and following adverse events. Ensures that clinical findings are communicated to healthcare team timely, accurately and without compromising security and confidentiality. Ensures all required documentation is completed per established Center policy. Completes all indicated written and computer documentation in a timely manner. Plays active role in CLIA accreditation and in process/maintenance of accreditation. Actively participates in staff orientation, training, education programs, performance improvement, and quality control activities and initiatives. Inspects Emergency Cart and AED per policy guidelines and makes adjustments/changes as necessary. Provides staff education and competency assessment at direction of Center Administrator. Uses equipment in safe and effective manner; reporting repairs to appropriate person. Competent and responsible in prevention of contamination and transfer of infection. Reduces hazards/risks, prevents accidents/injuries and maintains safe conditions in workplace. Completes on-going continual education to improve job performance, maintain licensure/certification/registration, and stays abreast of current trends and practices. Maintains and organizes supplies appropriately. Fosters open communication by offering, encouraging, and accepting suggestions. Meets established goals and objectives Follows through with work assignments and informs supervisor if unable to complete task. Practice and adhere to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Vision Statements" Coordinates and/or participates in the orientation and training of new staff under the guidance of the Center Director Other duties as assigned What qualifications you will need: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred). Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License. 2+ years of nursing experience, ideally in an acute care hospital or imaging outpatient setting. Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
