Responsibilities Provide direct emergency nursing care to patients of all ages presenting with acute and urgent conditions. Perform rapid assessment and triage, prioritizing care based on patient acuity and established protocols. Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapy safely and accurately, following provider orders and hospital policies. Continuously monitor and reassess patients, recognizing changes in condition and initiating appropriate interventions. Assist with trauma, cardiac, and respiratory resuscitations, including operation of emergency equipment and adherence to

ACLS/PALS

guidelines. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans. Prepare patients for and assist with diagnostic tests and procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and communications accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record. Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, discharge instructions, and follow-up care. Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and quality standards, actively participating in performance improvement initiatives. Precept or mentor new staff and nursing students as appropriate, contributing to a positive, team-oriented work environment. Participate in required continuing education, skills validation, and emergency preparedness training.
