Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN).

Education:

Graduate of an Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited program. Copy of college transcript and diploma required.

Certifications:

Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC). Web-based classes not accepted. Attendance in non-billable status for MAMC BLS and ALS recertification at discretion of department COR.

Minimum of one year in ICU within the last three years.

Current, full, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in at least one U.S. state, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction. Must maintain unencumbered licensure throughout employment.

Specialty Requirements:

All personnel remain Contractor employees under technical supervision of Chief of Department or Government representative. No military or Government civilian personnel for services under this contract.

Job Responsibilities:

Provide age-specific nursing care in ICU, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care. Manage critical care duties for patients with complex medical and surgical pathologies. Perform clinical documentation, patient assessments, and collaborate with healthcare team. Serve as patient advocate, educate patients/families, and ensure patient safety. Administer medications, manage patient conditions, and operate emergency equipment. Assist with invasive procedures, conscious sedation, and patient care management.

Additional Responsibilities:

Coordinate care, participate in quality assurance/risk management, and respond to breaches of standard procedures. Attend patient care conferences, discharge planning sessions, and staff conferences. Conduct patient assessments for potential crises and initiate life-saving measures when necessary.

Staffing and Scheduling:

Operational 365 days per year, 24 hours a day. Requirement of 80 hours in a two-week period. Schedule includes overtime pay for hours worked over 40 per week (Sun-Sat).
