Infection Prevention & Nursing Education Leader (RN) | Odessa, WA We are partnering with a well-established community-based critical access hospital in rural eastern Washington to find a dedicated and experienced Infection Prevention & Clinical Education Leader (RN) . This is a unique dual-role leadership opportunity for a Registered Nurse who is passionate about both patient safety and staff development — with flexible scheduling of 32+ hours per week and the variety of occasional floor shifts in acute/emergency or long-term care.

$43.47 - $74.95/hour DOE + applicable shift differentials

ASAP About the Role The Infection Prevention & Clinical Education Leader ensures the hospital's Infection Prevention Plan is implemented robustly to protect the safety of patients, staff, and visitors. This includes managing risks associated with communicable disease transmission, medical procedures, equipment and devices, and barriers to continuous improvement in clinical outcomes. This leader collaborates with medical staff, hospital leaders, and community providers to carry out infection prevention initiatives. A strong understanding of data-driven infection surveillance and outbreak management is essential — including establishing baselines, identifying root causes, and developing appropriate solutions. In addition to the infection prevention focus, this position educates clinical staff on skills, documentation, and evolving regulatory requirements, and is responsible for developing and implementing a monthly education program. Key Responsibilities Infection Prevention Implement and manage the hospital's Infection Prevention Plan in accordance with professional standards, organizational objectives, and regulatory/accreditation requirements Conduct comprehensive annual and ongoing risk assessments and risk reduction strategies related to infectious disease transmission, construction/renovation projects, waterborne and airborne illness events, and hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) Perform surveillance for and containment of pathogens of concern; manage outbreak investigations Ensure notifiable diseases are reported per applicable regulations Provide timely feedback to leadership and develop proactive, preventative, and corrective action plans in response to actual and potential infection prevention and safety issues Collaborate across medical staff, hospital leadership, and community providers on infection prevention initiatives Clinical Education Educate clinical staff on skills, documentation, and evolving regulatory requirements Develop and implement a monthly clinical education program Provide staff and patient education related to infection prevention and environmental care risks Additional May be asked to work floor shifts in the acute/emergency department or long-term care side as needed Requirements Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) — Washington State license, listed on the WA State Registry — required Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience — required Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible and recent related healthcare work experience demonstrating requisite job knowledge — required Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a lead or management role — strongly preferred Strong analytical, problem-solving, and judgment skills — required Considerable understanding of infection surveillance data and outbreak management methodology Why Apply Through Us? Compensation & Benefits Pay Rate:
