Job Description

Life Care Centers is seeking a Registered Nurse Infection Preventionist to lead infection prevention and control efforts in our senior living and rehabilitation community. In this on-site role, you will oversee surveillance, data analysis, and regulatory reporting while partnering with an interdisciplinary team to reduce healthcare-associated infections. You will educate staff, perform audits and risk assessments, and develop evidence-based protocols that support resident safety and quality outcomes. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate infection prevention and control programs across the facility Conduct surveillance, data collection, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections Educate staff on infection control policies, procedures, and best practices Develop, implement, and update infection prevention protocols in line with regulatory standards Collaborate with nursing, medical, and support teams to reduce infection risk Perform audits, rounds, and risk assessments to ensure compliance Analyze infection data and trends, recommending improvement initiatives Support outbreak investigations and implement containment measures Provide patient and family education on infection prevention Maintain accurate documentation for regulatory and accreditation requirements Required Skills Infection prevention and control Clinical nursing practice Data collection and infection surveillance Regulatory compliance (CMS, CDC, state) Staff training and education Quality improvement methodologies Electronic health record (EHR) documentation Outbreak investigation and response Report writing and presentation Risk assessment and auditing
