This position performs a range of tasks based on their academic progress and skills, as defined by the supervising RN and the Washington Administrative Code (WAC). This includes assisting with patient care, gathering information, and performing specific nursing functions. Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities Nurse Technicians assist registered nurses in providing direct patient care, including tasks like taking vital signs, assisting with mobility, hygiene, and toileting needs. They collect and document patient information, including vital signs and other relevant data, and report any changes to the supervising RN. They play a role in maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients and staff, including stocking supplies and reporting safety concerns. They communicate with the supervising RN about patient status and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care. They may provide emotional support to patients and their families and assist them with information. Collaborates effectively with the nursing team, physicians, other departments, and external providers to coordinate patient care activities. Participate in team meetings and discussions to contribute to care planning and problem-solving. Must be enrolled in an approved LPN or RN accredited program in good standing and has completed at least one academic term with a clinical component.
