1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a fast-paced surgical unit requiring 3 years of OR experience and prior travel experience. Details Acute care setting within a Level 4 trauma facility OR unit with 6 operating suites and 2 GI suites, averaging 12 cases per day Common cases include total joints, ORIFs, tendon repairs, hernia repairs, cholecystectomy, appendectomy, robotic bowel resection, endoscopic sinus surgery, and pediatric tonsil/adenoid procedures, plus cataracts and blepharoplasty Uses Cerner EMR, transitioning to Epic Monday through Thursday schedule, 8-hour day shifts from 0630 to 1500 or 1700 On-call required one night per week until 0630 the following day, paired with one RN, one tech, and one CRNA Weekend call required Friday 630p through Monday 630a, every 3rd to 4th weekend Call response time of 30 minutes required Occasional floating to ED, Med-Surg, or LTC units for helping hands depending on comfort level OR tech support available on the unit Requirements Active WI or Compact RN license required Current ACLS and BLS certification (AHA) Minimum 3 years of OR experience required General surgery and orthopedic total joint experience required Robotics experience required, GI experience preferred Prior travel experience required Duo applicants considered only with previous travel experience Willingness to teach cataract/eye cases preferred 2 professional references required for consideration, one from a supervisor and one from a peer or supervisor Additional Information Scrubbing responsibilities preferred but not required Charge nurse role primarily focused on managing the department Gray scrubs provided by the facility Up to 4 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided, including cataract cases Travelers expected to work the majority of holidays, approximately 2 of 3 during winter season All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local Former permanent staff must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission and require facility approval to return
