May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Job Description
- Provide direct patient care, assessments, and nursing interventions
- Coordinate daily healthcare operations and ensure continuity of care between shifts
- Serve as the primary nursing leader and clinical resource for the facility
- Collaborate with providers, correctional staff, and Southern Health Partners leadership to deliver quality patient care
- Review documentation, monitor compliance, and maintain accurate medical records
- Support and coordinate activities with the facility's nursing staff member working the alternate rotation
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
- Participate in an on-call rotation to address clinical concerns, provide guidance, and support facility operations as needed
- Ensure compliance with company policies, correctional healthcare standards, and regulatory requirements
