Eligible to take up to four weekends off per year using accrued Paid Time Off (PTO). Position Summary The Medical/Surgical Department Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for providing comprehensive, goal-oriented care to patients ranging from infant through geriatric populations, as directed by physician orders. Responsibilities include age-appropriate patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, care planning, implementation of interventions, evaluation of treatment outcomes, and ongoing patient monitoring. The RN provides both physical and psychological support to patients and their families, including education with a focus on discharge planning throughout the hospitalization. The RN collaborates and communicates effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate care, prioritize workload, and achieve optimal patient outcomes. The position also requires commitment to continuing education and maintaining competency in current evidence-based nursing practice. Qualifications Education Required Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Licensure Required Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) License or qualifying multistate licensure. Certifications Required Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or completion within three (3) months of hire. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or completion within one (1) year of orientation completion. Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification or completion within one (1) year of orientation completion.
