Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) adult care to join our dedicated healthcare team. This role offers the opportunity to work day and night shifts in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. As a vital member of our nursing staff, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with diverse medical conditions, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal health outcomes. Your expertise will support a wide range of clinical procedures, patient assessments, and interdisciplinary collaboration to deliver exceptional care. Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a medical-surgical setting, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans. Administer medications and treatments accurately, including IV infusions and injections, while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Monitor vital signs, conduct physical examinations, and perform diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory tests and specimen collection. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner for documentation of patient information, medical records, and medical documentation compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with complex procedures such as suturing, catheterization (including Foley and urinary catheters), wound care including ostomy management, and ventilator support when necessary. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians specializing in emergency medicine, critical care, cardiology (including cardiac catheterization), geriatrics, behavioral health, and hospice & palliative medicine to coordinate patient care. Participate in triage assessments for incoming patients and provide acute pain management for individuals experiencing severe discomfort or trauma. Support patients with long-term conditions such as memory care or developmental disabilities by applying specialized knowledge in geriatrics or behavioral health. Ensure compliance with all safety standards including infection control practices, sterile processing procedures, and OSHA regulations during all clinical activities. Qualifications Valid RN license with current state registration or licensure. Proven experience working in medical-surgical units or acute care environments; ICU or trauma center experience is highly desirable. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) is preferred. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to adult patient care. Experience performing IV insertions, phlebotomy (venipuncture), medication administration including injections, and tube feeding management. Ability to handle complex clinical situations involving critical & intensive care procedures like airway management or ventilator support when required. Excellent communication skills for effective patient assessment and interdisciplinary collaboration across specialties such as internal medicine, emergency medicine, pediatrics (including neonatal resuscitation procedures), and home & community care settings. Pay:
$2,800.00 - $3,200.00 per week
