Job Location:
Peyton Hospice House, Lewisburg, WV Position Summary:
Provides skilled nursing care and psychosocial support to patients / families in the Peyton Hospice House and supervises volunteers who provide care, LPNs, CNAs, and dietary aid during the shift. Performs other job duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
Graduate from approved school of professional nursing. Current unrestricted WV RN license. Strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment:
Exposure to infectious diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and bodily fluids. Frequent interaction with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members. Fast-paced clinical settings with potential for high stress. Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition patients up to 50 pounds independently and over 50 pounds with assistance. Frequent standing and walking for extended periods (8-12 hour per shift). Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Ability to push and pull equipment (e.g., wheelchairs, stretchers, and medication carts). Visual acuity to read medication labels, physician orders, and monitors. Auditory ability to assess patient needs and respond to alarms or calls for assistance.
