Job Description

Deliver compassionate, high-quality care as a Hospice Registered Nurse, providing expert support to patients and families facing end-of-life journeys. This field-based contract role requires clinical excellence, sensitivity, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary hospice team. You will play a key part in maintaining comfort, dignity, and quality of life for patients in their homes or residential settings.
Schedule:
Full-time, 13-week contract Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM Occasional weekend or on-call rotation may be required
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized hospice care plans Deliver skilled nursing care focused on symptom management, pain control, and comfort Administer medications and treatments following physician orders and hospice best practices Monitor patient condition, promptly communicating updates to the care team Educate patients, families, and caregivers about disease progression, symptom control, and emotional support Collaborate with social workers, chaplains, aides, and volunteers to address holistic patient needs Accurately document all care activities in Home Care Home Base (HCHB) Participate in regular case conferences and quality improvement initiatives Maintain compliance with hospice policies and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
Active, unrestricted RN license in the state of practice At least 1 year of recent hospice nursing experience Proficient with Home Care Home Base (HCHB) electronic documentation Strong clinical assessment and interpersonal communication skills Solid understanding of end-of-life care, pain management, and family support Reliable transportation, valid drivers license, and current auto insurance Ability to work independently in a field-based environment Compassion, resilience, and a supportive approach to care
Preferred:
BSN degree Experience in palliative or end-of-life care Familiarity with Medicare hospice regulations Benefits include weekly pay, health insurance options, 401(k), 24/7 support, mileage reimbursement, and opportunities for contract renewal.
