Wyoming Medical Associates is looking for a compassionate, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented Registered Nurse - Wound Care to join our clinical team in Gillette, Wyoming. This position is an opportunity for an experienced RN who is passionate about helping patients heal, improving quality of life, and providing specialized care for acute and chronic wounds. The Wound Care RN will work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the clinical team to provide comprehensive wound assessment, treatment, education, and follow-up. We are looking for someone who can work confidently and independently while also being a strong team player. As our Wound Care RN, you will: Perform comprehensive assessments of acute and chronic wounds. Evaluate wound location, size, depth, drainage, tissue type, surrounding skin, and signs of infection. Measure and document wounds accurately and consistently. Perform wound treatments and dressing changes according to provider orders and established treatment plans. Monitor wound healing and identify changes or complications requiring provider intervention. Assist with wound-care procedures as appropriate to your training, licensure, and scope of practice. Provide patient and caregiver education regarding wound care and treatment plans. Educate patients on factors that may affect healing, including nutrition, hydration, pressure relief, mobility, diabetes management, and skin care. Maintain thorough and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. Communicate changes in patient condition or wound status to physicians and advanced practice providers. Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, specialists, home health agencies, and outside providers when appropriate. Assist with pressure injury prevention and management. Participate in the development and improvement of WMA's wound-care processes and protocols. Maintain a strong focus on patient safety, quality of care, and positive patient experiences. Perform other nursing duties as needed within the scope of the position. What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wyoming or eligibility for Wyoming licensure. Graduation from an accredited nursing program. Current BLS certification. Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills. Excellent communication and patient-education skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality patient care. Preferred Qualifications Previous wound-care nursing experience. Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing (WOCN) certification or another recognized wound-care certification. Experience caring for chronic or non-healing wounds. Experience with pressure injuries, diabetic wounds, venous ulcers, arterial ulcers, surgical wounds, or traumatic wounds. Experience with wound debridement or advanced wound-care treatments, as permitted by licensure, training, provider orders, and organizational policy. Previous outpatient clinic, wound-care center, home health, long-term care, or acute-care experience. Experience with Epic or another electronic medical record system.
