Registered Nurse Location:
Sheridan
WY 82801.
A-Team Solutions is seeking 4 Acute Care RNs for a contract opportunity we are seeking at a government healthcare facility in Sheridan WY. Start would be upon approval and credentialing.
General Responsibilities:
The RN assigned to these areas provide direct and indirect nursing care, by contributing to the patient's assessment, determining priorities, identifying nursing measures and therapeutic objectives, and evaluating outcomes. The position requires independent judgement and nursing actions, flexibility, organizational skills, and the ability to utilize an interdisciplinary approach in the provision of nursing care. 1. Organization Relationship. The RN is subject to the professional direction of the VA Nurse Manager or the designee during the workweek. On evening, nights, holidays and weekends, the RN reports through the Charge Nurse to the Nursing Supervisor. 2. Duties and Responsibilities. Specific duties and responsibilities of these RNs include: 3. Perform nursing care the Community Living Center patients. 4.Reviews all laboratory data, and electronic medical records 5. Obtain patient history and pertinent family history. 6. Assess patient and plan appropriate nursing care. 7.. Document plan of care and care given in patient's medical record. 8. Verify transcription of physician's orders, no verbal orders are to be accepted. 9. Carry out prescribed physician's orders and document inpatient medical record. 10. Communicate pertinent patient data to charge nurse and/or physician as appropriate. 11. Re-assess patient's condition and revise plans of care based on identified nursing issue. 12. Administer medications and Intravenous (IV) therapies. 13. Possess knowledge of actions and usual dosages of most commonly used drugs. 14. Assess and document patient response to medication that have been administered. 15.. Reorganize and initiate appropriate measures in therapies and surgical/diagnostic procedures that shall be accomplished. 16. Instruct patient/family regarding prescribed medications/therapies and surgical/diagnostic procedures that shall be accomplished. 17. Assess patient/family knowledge level, implement plan of instructions and record patient/family demonstrated level of understanding. 18. Participate in discharge planning, as appropriate. 19. Be able to initiate life saving measures in the absence of physicians. 20. Assure content and correctness of a prepared report and sign the document to validate its content. 21. Maintain neat, personal appearance and maintain professional decorum. 22. Consistently, apply VA customer service standards, demonstrating helpful, courteous, and respectful conduct at all times. 23. Respect patient's rights, including but not limited to visual and auditory privacy. 24. May accept a verbal order in compliance with the facility policy. 25. Intake and output is assessed every shift, and more frequently if indicated by specific standard nursing drug care.
Staff Meetings:
The Contract nurses/RNs shall attend staff meetings as required by the VAMC Chief of Service, Chief of Staff, or designee. Contractor to communicate with COR on this requirement and report any conflicts that may interfere with compliance with this requirement. List all meetings, associated time, and frequency.
Qualifications:
  • Registered Nurses (RNs) - BSN
  • Graduation from a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • A current license in at least one (1) state, territory, or commonwealth in the U.S. or the District of Columbia.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification
  • A current CV which identifies the provider's education and professional qualifications commensurate with the position or specialty for which they are being offered to perform.
  • A minimum of (2) years direct inpatient acute care experience.
