Job Description

General Summary As the first point of contact for patients arriving at UCA's clinics, the Medical Front Desk Clerk will greet and assist patients with check-in at kiosks, collection of necessary documents, inputting information into EMR system, preparing file for office visit, and notifying physician or nurse that patient is ready to be taken back. Upon conclusion of service, schedules follow-up appointments and communicates instructions for additional services. Minimum Qualifications Must show the ability to have excellent interpersonal skills and communication to interact with all walks of life, internal and external to UCA, from all educational or cultural backgrounds. Must show the ability to work independently or within a team in a fast-paced environment. Must show proficiency in use of a variety of office equipment including a PC, Windows, MSOffice, EMR system, multi-line telephone, copier, facsimile machine, etc. Must show the ability to maintain confidentiality, including strict adherence to HIPAA and UCA Guidelines. Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual in English and Spanish. May have previous experience in healthcare or in a physician clinic setting. May demonstrate a good working knowledge of medical terminology.
