Riverview Regional Medical Center - Gadsden, AL The Psychiatric Intake Coordinator (RN) is a registered nurse who is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the admission process for patients seeking psychiatric and behavioral health services. This role performs clinical assessments, gathers patient information, collaborates with providers, and ensures appropriate level-of-care placement while maintaining compliance with regulatory and standards. The intake coordinator serves as the key point of contact for patients, families, referral sources and internal care teams. This individual will also be responsible for marketing and conducting outreach and educational visits to local healthcare facilities to increase awareness of the organization's psychiatric services. Responsibilities Assesses the needs of walk-in and phone callers and ensures their referral to the service or resource that best addresses those needs. Coordinates and prioritizes in-patient bed reservations and placement; ensure the seamless admission of the patient to the appropriate level of care. Is responsible for advising, informing and assisting the physician and the physician's office before and during hospitalization; informs them of hospital policies and procedures related to their patient's stay. Must have current valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State. BSN/Master's degree in health-related field preferred. Current BCLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
