Required Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Patient Service Representative II (PSR II) for an onsite temporary assignment. The PSR II provides clerical and administrative support while managing a high volume of patient coordination, complex scheduling, check-in/check-out, insurance verification, referrals, and authorizations. The ideal candidate is an experienced healthcare administrative professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment and providing exceptional service to patients, providers, and clinical teams. Key Responsibilities Independently manage patient check-in and check-out , including payment collection and reconciliation. Maintain accurate patient demographic and insurance information in the CS-Link system . Schedule and coordinate patient appointments while following established scheduling protocols and procedures. Handle complex and multi-coordination scheduling, including services such as Echo, EKG, Zio, and laboratory testing . Coordinate procedures and testing with other departments and ancillary services. Monitor daily schedules and identify patients who do not show for appointments and coordinate rescheduling. Review healthcare insurance benefits to determine patient out-of-pocket expenses and authorization requirements. Manage provider master schedules, including schedule changes and patient/provider correspondence. Coordinate patient referrals and insurance authorizations. Support patient flow throughout the clinic and guide patients to other departments for required services. Serve as a liaison between patients and the clinical care team. Answer incoming calls, take accurate messages, and route calls or information to the appropriate department or individual. Utilize automated call distribution (ACD) systems when applicable. Retrieve and obtain medical records as required by clinical protocols. Perform courier duties within the medical center, including picking up and delivering supplies. Participate in departmental huddles and staff meetings and occasionally lead discussions or presentations. Support department-specific workflows and data management using lean methodology. Follow HIPAA, infection prevention, confidentiality, and organizational policies and procedures. Perform additional administrative duties and special projects as assigned. Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of healthcare administrative experience. Previous Patient Service Representative (PSR) experience required. High School Diploma or GED required. Experience with patient registration, scheduling, and healthcare administrative workflows. Strong understanding of patient demographics and insurance information. Experience working with healthcare insurance benefits, authorizations, and referrals. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate patient information. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume clinical environment . Ability to handle confidential patient information in accordance with HIPAA requirements. Flu vaccination required. Preferred Skills Experience with CS-Link or similar electronic medical record systems. Experience with complex medical scheduling and multi-department coordination. Experience working in a hospital, medical center, specialty clinic, or physician practice. Knowledge of insurance verification and authorization processes. Experience coordinating Echo, EKG, Zio, laboratory, or other diagnostic services. Familiarity with lean methodology and healthcare process improvement.
