Medical Receptionist / Associate Patient Care CoordinatorJob Description This Medical Receptionist / Associate Patient Care Coordinator role provides front-desk and administrative support in a busy healthcare setting. The position focuses on welcoming patients, accurately registering and updating their information, supporting clinicians and medical assistants, and ensuring a smooth, friendly experience from arrival through check-out. The role is based on-site in Los Angeles, California and follows a daytime Monday through Friday schedule. Responsibilities + Warmly greet patients upon arrival and create a welcoming, professional first impression. + Check in and arrive patients for their visits, ensuring all required information is collected and verified. + Enter and update patient registration data, including demographics, insurance details, and contact information, with a high level of accuracy. + Perform reminder calls to patients regarding upcoming appointments and follow-up visits. + Scan and upload documents into the electronic medical record system to maintain complete and organized patient files. + Provide general clerical support such as filing, copying, and handling incoming and outgoing correspondence. + Coordinate closely with medical assistants and clinicians to support patient flow and clinic operations. + Use electronic medical record (EMR) systems to look up, enter, and update patient information as needed. + Deliver courteous and efficient customer service to patients, families, and visitors in person and over the phone. + Assist with other front office duties as needed to ensure the clinic runs smoothly throughout the day. Essential Skills + Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new systems quickly. + Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems or medical reception (MR) experience preferred. + Accurate computer data entry skills with attention to detail. + Demonstrated customer service skills in a patient-facing or client-facing environment. + Ability to work effectively in a healthcare environment alongside medical assistants and clinicians. + Fast learner with the ability to adapt to changing workflows and clinic needs. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Healthcare background or prior experience working in a medical office or clinic. + Bilingual in Spanish, with the ability to communicate clearly with Spanish-speaking patients. + Experience with EPIC EMR or similar electronic medical record platforms. + Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both in person and over the phone. + Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy clinical setting while maintaining professionalism and accuracy. Work Environment This position is fully on-site at a healthcare facility located at 1120 W Washington Blvd., Los Angeles, CA. The work schedule is 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST, Monday through Friday, providing a consistent daytime shift. You will work closely with a team of medical assistants and clinicians in a collaborative, patient-focused environment that relies on EMR systems and computer-based data entry to support care delivery. The role involves regular interaction with patients at the front desk and over the phone in a fast-paced clinical setting. The preferred dress code is navy blue scrubs, reflecting a professional clinical appearance appropriate for direct patient interaction. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Los Angeles, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
