Job Description

In this patient-centered role, you will play a key role in gathering and processing admission and registration information, obtaining required documentation for billing and compliance purposes, and addressing routine customer service inquiries. Pay:

$35.00-$40.00 per hour (DOE)

Schedule:

Shifts may vary: Mon-Sun Rotating - 08 hour per day

Schedule Flexibility Required:

Candidates must be flexible with start times based on departmental needs.

Possible shift start times include:

Morning shifts: 07:00 am-09:30 am Afternoon shifts: 12:00 pm-01:00 pm Evening shifts: 05:00 pm - 07: 00 pm And weekend availability is preferred.

Experience Qualifications Min 1-2 years of customer service experience healthcare setting experience required. Experience working with Epic system Experience with insurance verification, eligibility, and authorization processes. Candidates must be flexible with the work schedule. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job. Ability to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization. Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area. Knowledge of Medical Terminology such as Medicare, Medi-Cal, Workers Comp, Managed Care (HMO, PPO, POS, etc.), Children's Health Programs (CCS, GHPP, Healthy Families, etc.).

Responsibilities:

Assures secure handling and accurate recording of payments collected at the point-of service delivery. Builds a foundational understanding of the different health insurance coverage options and the related processes and procedures. Able to handle routine/simple patient escalations and perform service recovery. Escalates any advanced or complex registrations to a more experienced team member. Greets patients and begins the registration process. Maintains professional communication with various PAS staff, medical center staff, physicians, guests, and patients regarding the admitting/registration services. Communication may consist of telephone correspondence, email, or in person contact. Meets weekly individual productivity and key performance indicators and standards while following planned priorities as set by the department leadership team. Provides excellent customer service to all individuals with whom the employee has contact. The specific job duties will be comprised of a combination of responsibilities for all areas of Patient Access Service operations.
