Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Temporary Patient Representative/Medical Assistant to join our clinical staff. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide exceptional patient service while supporting clinical and administrative operations. The ideal candidate will be energetic, organized, and passionate about delivering quality care and administrative support in a fast-paced Orthopedic office and surgery center. This position is a Temporary to hire Part- time float Duties Greet patients warmly, verify insurance coverage, and assist with patient intake processes using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Schedule appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software and manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy. Review medical documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring all records are properly maintained in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Assist Therapy provider with clinical tasks including preparing exam tables and supporting procedures. Verify insurance benefits, perform insurance verifications, and process medical billing using CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding standards. Maintain organized medical records, file documents systematically, and ensure compliance with health information management standards. Support front desk operations by managing patient check-in/check-out procedures, handling billing inquiries, and providing excellent customer service through phone etiquette and clerical support. Experience Previous experience working in a medical office or clinic environment is highly preferred but not needed. Knowledge of medical coding including
CPT, ICD-9/10
coding for accurate billing and documentation review. Strong understanding of health insurance processes including verification, Medicare guidelines, and insurance claims processing. Bilingual skills are a plus to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality while adhering to HIPAA regulations. $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
