Patient Care & Insurance Coordinator Smyl OC Santa Ana, CA Job Details $25 - $30 an hour 2 hours ago Full Job Description Smyl OC is a modern, patient-centered dental practice seeking a friendly, organized, and motivated Patient Care & Insurance Coordinator to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships with patients while also managing the administrative and insurance aspects of dental care. As a startup practice, we are looking for a team member who is adaptable, proactive, and excited about growing with the office. This position combines front desk responsibilities, treatment coordination, and insurance billing. This is not a high-volume corporate office—we focus on quality patient care, relationship-building, and creating an exceptional experience for our patients. Responsibilities Patient Experience & Front Desk Greet patients and create a welcoming experience Answer phones, respond to texts, and manage patient communication Schedule and confirm appointments Check patients in and out Collect payments and review financial arrangements Maintain an organized and professional reception area Treatment Coordination Present treatment plans and discuss financial options Help patients understand recommended treatment and insurance benefits Coordinate scheduling for treatment appointments Follow up on unscheduled treatment and patient questions Assist in improving case acceptance and patient retention Insurance & Billing Verify insurance benefits and eligibility Submit and track insurance claims Follow up on outstanding claims and appeals Post insurance payments and patient payments Review EOBs and resolve claim discrepancies Maintain accurate insurance information and patient accounts Qualifications Previous dental front office experience preferred Experience with dental insurance verification, claims, and billing Strong communication and customer service skills Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Comfortable discussing finances and treatment with patients Ability to work independently and take initiative Experience with dental practice management software preferred What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience Supportive and positive team environment Opportunity for professional growth and advancement Modern, state-of-the-art office Chance to be part of a growing startup practice and help shape its future We are looking for someone who is dependable, patient-focused, and excited to contribute to a practice that prioritizes exceptional care and a positive patient experience.
