Job Description

We are looking for a Receptionist/Patient Care Coordinator for our busy Santa Cruz front desk. As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our hearing aid center. Our Receptionist's duties include offering administrative support across the organization. You will welcome guests and greet people who visit the business. You must be a team player, have a pleasant personality, be able to multitask and execute all administrative tasks to the highest quality standards. Dependability and trustworthiness are of utmost importance. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Opens the office each day, according to protocol
  • Answers the telephone pleasantly
  • Schedules patient appointments
  • Explains to patient which pieces of information they are to bring
  • Educates potential clients about consultations and bring sales to a close
  • Provides a range of potential charges for the visit and the patient's financial obligation
  • Greets patients as they arrive for scheduled appointments
  • Verifies demographic and insurance information for new and established patients, according to protocol
  • with an accuracy of 98%
  • Requests authorizations as needed
  • Keeps the patient reception area neat and clean at all times throughout the day
  • Sells HA batteries and accessories
  • Collects payment for hearing aids or other products
  • Cleans and repairs hearing aids for clients that walk in
  • Completes incoming or outgoing hearing aid transactions, i.e. repairs, new orders
  • Tally up credit sales, invoices, checks, cash etc. for assessment and takes folder upstairs to business manager daily
  • Posts daily charges and payments into the computer with 100% accuracy
  • Schedules follow-up appointments for patients before they leave the office
  • Closes the office daily
  • according to protocol
  • Instructs patients who are having difficulty with inserting the hearing aid
  • Follow-up on any potential leads with phone calls, brochures, etc.
  • Performs all other tasks and projects assigned by the Business Manager or Supervisor
  • Be willing to work occasionally in our Freedom office
