Patient Service Representative Job Summary We are seeking a professional and patient-focused Patient Service Representative (PSR) to serve as a primary point of contact for patients in an outpatient clinic setting. This role provides front-office support, patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, referral coordination, payment collection, and patient relations. The ideal candidate has recent experience in an outpatient clinic or medical office and is comfortable working with medical insurance, referrals, benefit plans, and patient registration systems . Position Highlights 8-hour shift Schedule within 6:30 AM-3:30 PM Outpatient/medical office environment Patient-facing position Flu vaccination required — no exceptions/no declinations Experience with medical insurance and referral processes required CS-Link/Epic experience preferred Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED Flu vaccination required — no exceptions/no declinations Minimum 1 year of recent experience working in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting Experience with: Medical insurance Referral processes Insurance benefit plans Ability to read, understand, and respond appropriately to detailed oral and written instructions Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to work professionally with patients, providers, and healthcare staff Strong attention to detail and accuracy Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of recent Patient Service Representative experience Experience with CS-Link/Epic Understanding of medical terminology Previous experience with patient registration, scheduling, referrals, and insurance verification Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for patient relations both in person and by phone Greet patients and assist with resolving patient concerns Escalate patient concerns appropriately when necessary Check patients in and out Collect co-payments, provide receipts, and reconcile payments Verify patient demographics and insurance information in CS-Link/Epic Schedule patient appointments Complete patient registration accurately Process and track referrals and authorizations for various insurance types Handle patient and provider correspondence Explain policies, procedures, and services to patients Maintain a professional and welcoming patient experience Sanitize the workspace using provided supplies and following department guidelines Perform other duties as assigned
