We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to serve as our Director of Patient Care Services (DPCS). We have a small census of less than 10 patients, providing a unique opportunity to lead a close-knit clinical team while maintaining a small patient caseload. The Director of Patient Care Services is responsible for overseeing all clinical operations, ensuring compliance with federal and California hospice regulations, supervising clinical staff, participating in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI), and maintaining a small patient caseload as needed. Duties Provide strategic leadership and supervision for all nursing and clinical staff involved in hospice care, ensuring high standards of patient care and staff performance. Develop, review, and update individualized care plans that align with patients' needs, preferences, and medical conditions. Oversee the management of medical records, documentation review, and compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and ensure accurate recordkeeping. Coordinate interdisciplinary team efforts including physicians, social workers, chaplains, and home health aides to deliver comprehensive hospice services. Ensure adherence to long-term care regulations, Medicare requirements, and other federal/state guidelines governing hospice operations. Manage shift schedules, resource allocation, and staffing levels to optimize care delivery while maintaining regulatory compliance. Lead quality assurance initiatives by analyzing clinical data, reviewing documentation accuracy, and implementing process improvements to enhance patient satisfaction and safety. Facilitate ongoing staff training on medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, EMR/EHR systems usage, and documentation standards. Foster a positive work environment that promotes professional development through supervising experience and nursing leadership development. Qualifications A registered nurse with a baccalaureate or higher degree in nursing or other health related field and a minimum of two years of full-time supervisory or managerial experience in a hospice or a home health agency within the last five years OR A registered nurse with a minimum of four years of full-time supervisory or managerial experience in a hospice or a home health agency within the last five years Proven nursing leadership experience within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health agencies, or hospice care settings. Demonstrated expertise in managing care facility teams with supervising experience in clinical settings. Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations, Medicare policies related to hospice services, and HIPAA compliance standards. Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems for documentation management. Excellent understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and nursing procedures relevant to hospice and home health care. Effective shift management skills coupled with administrative clinical supervision capabilities. Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams with strong nurse management skills; previous nursing administration experience is preferred. Commitment to upholding safety standards while managing care plans that prioritize patient dignity and comfort at end-of-life stages.

$115,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
