Job Title:
Medical Assistant Job Description Join our team as a Medical Assistant where you will be an integral part of the patient care team, assisting providers and nursing staff with daily office duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, obtaining prior authorizations, and rooming patients. Responsibilities Answer phones and manage incoming calls efficiently. Schedule patient appointments and manage calendar logistics. Assist with prior authorizations for medical procedures and prescriptions. Room patients and prepare them for consultations. Perform client intake and gather necessary patient information. Document patient interactions and maintain accurate records. Support patient care by performing specific duties as required. Handle clerical tasks, insurance documentation, and electronic medical records (EMR). Essential Skills Strong customer service skills. Proficient in data entry and maintaining patient information. Experience with medical office procedures. Familiarity with EPIC and electronic medical records systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) qualification is helpful. Medical Assistant (MA) diploma preferred. Prior experience with EPIC is preferred. Work Environment This role is based in an Internal Medicine office, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, extending to 6:00 PM one day a week. The position is temp to hire, located at 5 Durham Road, Guilford, CT. While clinicians work 10-hour days, our team members will typically work 8-hour days. Flexibility in scheduling is required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Guilford, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
