Job Description

Under the direction of the Patient Financial Services Director, with direct reporting to the Patient Access Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing clerical and receptionist duties to include, gathering and documenting patient demographic, financial and health information. Information gathered must be accurate and complete to include obtaining signatures, performing insurance verification procedures, obtaining insurance authorizations, collection of copays and deductibles, and other associated tasks necessary to accurately and efficiently complete the patient registration process. Further, this position is responsible for adhering to departmental specific performance improvement goals including point of service collections and registration accuracy measures. This position is responsible for shift coverage as needed, switchboard coverage including monitoring of alarm annunciation system, receptionist responsibilities as assigned, and any other routine activities of the department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Graduate or GED equivalent from a department of education accredited program required. Previous clerical experience with basic computer entry skills required. Strong customer service skills and ability to organize and multi-task while working in a high volume work environment required. Previous experience in a health care related field with insurance eligibility and verification of co-pays, deductibles and co-insurance preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. 12hr shift rotation, 7a-7p, varies as needed for coverage
