Monday- Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM SUMMARY The primary responsibility of a Medical Referral Coordinator is to contact clients and schedule follow up appointments after their preliminary treatment at the clinic while verifying insurance authorization required for appointments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Contact Clients to schedule appointments for initial or follow up exams. Verify patient details and obtain information on patient medical history and insurance. Provided all required medical background information regarding patient to physician Briefs patients on any preparation required for the visit. Handles queries from patient, physician and insurance co. regarding patient care. Maintain accurate record of schedule patient appointment and the physician to which the patient was referred. Must have appropriate time management skills. Maintain acceptable time and attendance. Respect patient privacy and maintain information confidentiality. (HIPAA) This position requires the employee have the availability to work nights and weekends.

Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED). 1 - 2 years' experience in Medical Office or Insurance experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Communication Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
Competency with Microsoft Office Suite.
