Job Description

The Patient Services Representative serves as the first point of contact for Student Health Services and supports daily front office operations. This role is responsible for patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and maintaining accurate clinical and administrative records. The position requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive health information in a confidential and professional manner. The role contributes to efficient clinic flow and a positive student experience. This role works under the guidance of the Student Health Operations Coordinator to support front desk operations and ensure efficient clinic flow.
Essential Functions:
1. Provides front desk operations including patient check-in/out, registration, scheduling, and maintenance of accurate records in the EMR system. Supports clinic flow and provides high-quality customer service to ensure a positive student experience. Answers incoming phone calls, triages inquiries, and directs calls appropriately. 2. Assists students with general information regarding student health insurance, immunizations, enrollment, and waiver processes, and directs complex issues appropriately 3. Coordinates referral processing and communicates with external providers as needed 4. Supports verification of student insurance status, billing information, and documentation required for health clearance and holds. 5. Maintains and manages health records, including scanning, filing, and retention in accordance with policy
Qualifications/Requirements:
High School Diploma required. Bachelor's degree preferred. 1-3 years of experience in administrative support Excellent written and verbal communications skills
