Job Description

As a Medical Intake Receptionist, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient front desk operation at our medical facility. You will be the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff, providing excellent customer service and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Patient Check-in and Check-out:
  • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Collect and verify patient information, including personal details and insurance information.
  • Schedule appointments and assist in the check-out process.
2.
Phone and Email Communication:
  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to the appropriate personnel.
  • Handle and prioritize emails related to appointments, inquiries, and general information.
3.
Appointment Scheduling:
  • Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of available resources.
  • Remind patients of upcoming appointments and provide necessary instructions.
4.
Data Entry and Record-keeping:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic health records (EHR) system.
  • Enter demographic and insurance information with attention to detail.
5.
Insurance Verification:
  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations.
  • Assist patients in understanding their insurance benefits and coverage.
6.
Maintain Clean and Organized Front Desk:
  • Keep the reception area tidy and organized.
  • Manage and distribute incoming mail and faxes.
7.
Patient Relations:
  • Address patient concerns and provide information about services offered.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in medical office administration is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a medical receptionist role or similar administrative position.
  • Proficient in using office software and electronic health records systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
