Job Description

Insurance Verification & Front Desk Specialist - Gynecology Pay dependant on experience. Florida Women's Health, LLC - Ocala, FL Florida Women's Health is seeking a dependable, professional, and detail-oriented Insurance Verification & Front Desk Specialist to join our busy gynecology practice. This position plays an important role in both the patient experience and the financial accuracy of the practice. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced medical office, communicating professionally with patients, verifying insurance benefits, and working closely with providers and clinical staff. Primary Responsibilities Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments Review coverage, copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and other patient financial responsibilities Identify insurance plans requiring referrals or authorizations and communicate issues before the patient's appointment Confirm demographic and insurance information is accurate and current Check patients in and out in a professional and welcoming manner Collect copays, balances, and other patient payments Schedule and reschedule appointments according to provider scheduling guidelines Answer incoming telephone calls and assist patients appropriately Scan and maintain insurance cards, identification, referrals, and other required documentation Communicate with insurance companies, patients, providers, and other medical offices as needed Assist with referrals, medical records, and front-office administrative responsibilities Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements Work cooperatively with the entire office team to keep patient flow efficient throughout the day Qualifications Previous medical office or healthcare experience preferred Experience with insurance verification, eligibility, benefits, or medical billing strongly preferred Knowledge of Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance plans is a plus Strong computer and data-entry skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Professional telephone and patient communication skills Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy medical practice Dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to work well independently while also being a strong team member Schedule Monday through Friday. The workday begins at approximately 7:30 a.m. and ends after the final patients have checked out and necessary front-office responsibilities are completed. What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who is reliable, organized, friendly, and proactive . This position requires someone who can recognize and address insurance or scheduling issues before they become problems for the patient or practice.
