The Lexington Health and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated Admission Coordinator to join our team! As an Admission Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring a smooth transition for new residents by assisting with the admissions process, acting as a liaison between the nursing unit, family members, and the facility. Responsibilities:
Meet with residents or responsible family members to sign admissions packets within 48 business hours Maintain an admission filing system as devised by the Admissions Director Conduct tours of the facility and answer questions regarding the facility and admissions process Provide residents with admission information packets and review as necessary Assist with Medicaid applications and obtain necessary information from potential residents Ensure that all departments receive necessary information to prepare for admission Forward completed medical records to the appropriate department, if necessary Review and explain resident rates, billing procedures, visitors and guest privileges, and resident care procedures as appropriate Stay up-to-date with current Medicare and Medicaid regulations governing admission and discharge requirements
Working Conditions:
Work in office areas as well as throughout the facility Attend and participate in continuing educational programs Communicate with medical staff, nursing personnel, and other department directors Maintain a liaison with residents, family members, support personnel, and other stakeholders to ensure residents' needs are met
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required Two years prior admissions experience in healthcare facilities and Medicaid filing preferred Ability to type required Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, visitors, and the general public Knowledgeable in the use of computers (Excel, Word, and Access), data input, retrieval, and output functions How to
