Advanced Foot & Ankle of Indian River is an established podiatry practice, with two locations, that is looking to add an enthusiastic and organized Patient Representative/Insurance Specialist to our Sebastian office. Benefits include health insurance, PTO, and matching 401K. Applicants must pass a background check and drug test.
Summary of Job Profile:
Provides extensive Patient First experience. Exhibits outstanding customer service skills Supports clinic operations, obtains referral/authorizations, maintains patient schedules, and other administrative duties.
Responsibilities include:
Managing communication between patients and the medical team throughout the duration of treatment. Ensures all patients are scheduled or rescheduled according to the calendar. Confirms appointments for the following day. Check in and check out patients while collecting payments. Maintaining patient data up-to-date and verifying patient information at every visit. Verifies and updates all scheduled patient insurance information daily. Identifies the patients' need for referrals/authorization and obtains them when necessary. Ensures authorizations are secured for any imaging, DMEs, or other requests by the physician. Assists with other administrative areas when needed. Ensures all faxes are filed properly. Schedules new patient referrals promptly. Maintains and addresses our website appointment requests. Other duties as assigned.
Work Experience:
Excellent customer service and communication skills. Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills. Experience with insurance verification and authorization. 1 year medical experience is highly preferred.
