Thursday:

Compensation:
$19.00 / hour (Based on experience, paid bi-weekly)

About the Role At Rheumatic Wellness Institute , our Infusion Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring our patients have seamless access to life-changing biologic therapies and specialty treatments. Reporting directly to the Head of Biologics, you will bridge the gap between clinical needs, insurance approvals, and patient coordination. What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities) 1. Prior Authorizations & Benefits Verification Perform insurance verifications and benefits investigations for infusion therapies and specialty medications. Prepare, submit, and manage prior authorizations (PAs) along with necessary clinical documentation. Proactively monitor authorization statuses and follow up with commercial and government payers to prevent gaps or delays in patient care. Identify payer-related barriers or coverage limitations and coordinate solutions with providers and team members. 2. Appeals & Denials Management Prepare and submit detailed authorization appeals, compiling physician notes and clinical charts. Conduct persistent follow-ups with insurance medical review departments on pending appeals and denials. Maintain clean, audit-ready records of all prior authorization and appeals activity. 3. Patient & Clinic Communication Serve as a primary point of contact for patients regarding their infusion scheduling, copay programs, and treatment access. Answer incoming calls and communicate warmly with patients, caregivers, specialty pharmacies, and referring physicians. Return messages promptly and document all communications thoroughly in the EHR system. 4. Front Desk & Operational Support Provide front-desk coverage and support patient check-in/check-out when needed. Greet patients in a warm, professional manner and always uphold strict patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
What We're Looking For Qualifications & Must-Haves:
Bilingual Fluency:
Full professional proficiency in both English and Spanish (required for daily patient communication).
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Professionalism:
Exceptional phone etiquette, active listening skills, and a welcoming, empathetic demeanor.
Reliability:
High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and dependable punctuality.
Compliance:
Strong understanding of HIPAA guidelines and handling protected health information (PHI). Nice-to-Haves /
Preferred:
1+ years of experience in medical front desk, prior authorizations, medical reception, or specialty clinic operations. Familiarity with EHR systems (experience with eClinicalWorks is a strong plus). Knowledge of biologic medications, buy-and-bill workflows, copay assistance cards, or foundation grants. Perks & Benefits 4-Day Work Week (3-day weekend every week!)
