Role:
The Senior Admitting Representative plays a critical role in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient admission process within healthcare facilities across the United States. This position is responsible for accurately collecting and verifying patient information, coordinating with medical staff, and managing admission documentation to facilitate timely and compliant patient intake. The role demands a high level of attention to detail and excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. By managing admissions efficiently, the Senior Admitting Representative helps optimize patient flow and contributes to the overall quality of care and patient satisfaction. This position also involves problem-solving and handling complex admission scenarios to support operational excellence in healthcare delivery.
Minimum Qualifications:
Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software. Strong knowledge of healthcare privacy regulations such as HIPAA. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a hospital or large healthcare facility setting. Familiarity with insurance verification processes and medical terminology. Bilingual abilities, especially in Spanish, to support diverse patient populations. Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate communication between healthcare providers and insurance referral source to obtain necessary information and schedule appointments. Ensuring all referral paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner. Scheduling patient appointments with specialist providers. Work with internal departments and external healthcare providers to ensure timely completion of referrals. Identifying and resolving any issues or delays in the referral process. Maintain a comprehensive database of referral records, including tracking and updating the status of each referral. Identifies areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes. Registration of forensic patients upon scheduling. Daily chart checking. Maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations. Provide exceptional customer service to patients inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise during the referral process. Performs other duties as assigned.
