  • Cardiac Specialty Outpatient
  • Blairsville, Georgia Piedmont Heart Institute (PHI) is recruiting for a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join the Piedmont Heart Institute team of Blairsville located in Blairsville, Georgia.
This is an outpatient specialty position and heart failure experience is highly prefered. This is a full-time position working day shift Monday-Friday. This is a great opportunity to be employed by one of the nation's leading cardiology programs. You will work alongside some of the most respected and highly trained physicians. Piedmont Heart Institute provides the full line of cardiovascular services with dedicated electrophysiology, transplant, advanced heart failure, critical care, interventional, surgical and research services.
Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:
Ambulatory responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Management of patients across the spectrum of cardiology including assessing patient and performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, not limited to but including stress testing, to assist physician in diagnosing medical and surgical problems and prescribes necessary treatment and services for quality patient care. Takes patient histories, conducts physical examinations, writes progress notes, prepares patient workups and summaries, history and physicals, and consultation notes noting pertinent positive and negative findings, obtains psychosocial history relevant to patient care, and assumes responsibility for developing therapeutic relationships with patients. Orders and schedules laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures. Explains necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedure(s) to the patient, patient's family, and staff. Monitors progress of patients, reports progress to supervising physician, and maintains record of each patient's progress, consulting with supervising physician when patient's progress does not meet anticipated and/or predetermined criteria. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, participating in the Women's Heart screening program, managing advanced lipid patients, and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary Team Piedmont Benefits include: Comprehensive compensation and benefits package 401k package CME allowance
Quality, Service and Reputation Qualifications Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Master's in Nursing Required or Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current license for the
Georgia State Composite Board Required Licenses and Certifications:
ACLS Upon Hire Required and CPR
  • Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation Upon Hire Required and PA
  • Physician Assistant Licensed Physician Assistant in the State of Georgia. Updated NCCPA for PA's Upon Hire Required or ACNP
  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Licensed for Advanced Practice Nursing (ACNP, FNP, WHNP)
Upon Hire Required Minimum Requirements:
PA:
Graduate of a Physician Assistants program with current license for the
Georgia State Composite Board or NP:
Graduate from a school of nursing with current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Master's degree in Nursing
  • Heart Failure experience is highly preferred required.
Cardiac outpatient and/or clinic experience is also preferred for this position.
