Provides prescribed medical support/treatment and personal care to an individualized student and /or ill and injured students/employees in school facilities or activities. Provides the fullest possible educational opportunity for each student by minimizing absences due to illness and creating a climate of health and well-being in the school by using both in-person and telehealth methods.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education:
Graduate of an accredited nursing education program required; Valid RN licensure in the State of Georgia; Certification in CPR/AED required.Minimum Experience:
Minimum of one year of nursing experience required; Pediatric nursing experience is preferred.Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

THE BOARD OF EDUCATION AND THE SUPERINTENDENT MAY ACCEPT ALTERNATIVES TO SOME OF THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS
- Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance
- Exhibits professionalism
- Follows all county, state, and federal policies and procedures
- Provides nursing services to students and staff for both in-person and virtual visits through the school-based telehealth program
- Serves as a medical liaison to support and connect requests for telemedicine services offered via the school-based telehealth program
- Operates telehealth equipment in order to assist with the virtual examiniation of the patient
- Provides appropriate information, recommendations, or referrals as needed
- Conducts conferences with parents and students who are experiencing acute or chronic health problems
- Organizes and maintains a clean, orderly clinic to ensure a safe physical environment including locked medication cabinets, practicing standard precautions at all times, and maintaining sharps containers in appropriate locations; maintains adequate clinic supplies
- Administers and documents medications to students according to approved clinic policies, procedures, protocols, and written physician directions to include injectable medications and emergency medication with appropriate documented records
- Observes student/employee and reports adverse reactions to medication
- Cleans equipment and supplies and maintains a clean and orderly clinic
- Inventories and requisitions supplies
- Maintains current medical records on each student
- Maintains confidentiality of individual student/staff health status and records
- Evaluates student responses to prescribed interventions and the efficacy of the interventions and executes and documents the nursing interventions noted in an Individual Health Care Plan (IHCP), Section 504 Plan, or Individual Educational Plan (IEP)
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position. 8-hour school days, generally Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Routine physical activities required to fulfill job responsibilities; able to lift a maximum of 20 pounds.OTHER DUTIES

Performance in this position will be evaluated in accordance with the Performance Appraisal for Classified Employees (PACE).Pay:
