Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Step into an impactful role shaping the educational journeys of students with visual impairments in a supportive school setting for the 2026-2027 year. As an onsite Teacher for the Visually Impaired, you'll collaborate with school teams to provide specialized instruction and empower students to succeed in the classroom and beyond. This opportunity is available on a full-time or part-time contract basis, allowing for flexibility with scheduling depending on your preference and district needs.
Qualifications:
Valid Georgia Educator Certificate for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) required Experience teaching students with visual impairments in educational settings strongly preferred Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with students, staff, and families Comfortable with maintaining accurate, timely service logs and documentation Reliable, flexible, and passionate about making a difference Must be able to work onsite (no virtual/remote candidates will be considered)
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction and develop individualized educational plans for students with varying levels of visual impairment Support general education teachers and staff with strategies, adaptations, and resources Document daily services and student progress in accordance with district and state guidelines Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate regarding age group or caseload based on your experience/preference Stay current with best practices in teaching students with visual impairments This position aligns with the academic calendar: August 3rd, 2026 through May 21st, 2027, with possible pre/post planning days. The specific caseload will be determined through conversation with administrators, taking into account your strengths and interests.
