Job Description

Maui Diagnostic Imaging (MDI) is a leading provider of medical imaging services on the island of Maui. We are committed to delivering high-quality care using advanced imaging technology while fostering a compassionate, patient-centered environment. Our team works closely with referring providers, ensuring timely and accurate diagnostic imaging services. We are looking for a Medical Office Receptionist who is dedicated to providing outstanding customer service and supporting our collaborative relationships with referring physicians.
Position Overview:
The Medical Office Receptionist is an essential member of our front-line team, providing exceptional customer service to patients and establishing strong relationships with referring providers. In this role, you will manage patient appointments, process insurance verifications, and coordinate the flow of information between patients, providers, and our medical team. A friendly and professional demeanor, along with excellent communication skills, are key to building rapport with both patients and referring healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Interaction:
Greet patients warmly, answer inquiries, and provide clear instructions about their imaging procedures to ensure a positive experience.
Scheduling and Coordination:
Manage patient appointment scheduling, ensuring proper coordination with referring providers, and addressing any scheduling conflicts promptly.
Customer Service Excellence:
Address patient concerns with empathy and professionalism, ensuring a seamless, stress-free experience for patients and their families. Relationship Management with
Referring Providers:
Serve as a liaison between Maui Diagnostic Imaging and referring healthcare providers. Maintain professional, respectful relationships and ensure accurate, timely communication regarding patient scheduling, results, and imaging needs.
Insurance Verification and Pre-Authorization:
Verify insurance details, obtain pre-authorizations, and handle billing inquiries to ensure smooth processing of patient visits.
Data Entry and Record Management:
Accurately enter patient information into our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and maintaining up-to-date files.
Follow-Up Communication:
Proactively follow up with patients to confirm appointments, remind them of preparation instructions, and inform them of any changes or delays. Collaboration with
Medical Team:
Work closely with radiologists, technologists, and other medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality service delivery.
Administrative Support:
Assist with general office tasks such as filing, faxing, and maintaining office supplies.
Physical Requirements:
