ADVANCED SURGERY CENTER OF CENTRAL
IOWA, a AAAHC fully accredited Ambulatory Surgery Center located in West Des Moines, is now hiring for Patient Service Representative to assist in Medical records/Admissions/Intake, Collections, Insurance Verification and other duties as assigned.
Position Purpose:
The Patient Service Representative is responsible with providing advanced level patient services regarding registration intake, surgery scheduling, patient materials and communicating delays or changes.

Administrator & Clinical Nursing leaders

Position:
Medium, must be self-directed and works under direction of the
OR Clinical Leader/Registered Nurse Education, Experience, and Licensure:
High school graduate or equivalent required WITH proficiency with computer and other office equipment. Experience with Medical records/Admissions/Intake, Collections, Insurance Verification a plus . Successful completion of BLS Course within 90 days of employment required or documentation of current BLS certification.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to arrive early, open facility, present positive attitude for patients checking in. Ability to set priorities. Ability to code invoices properly. Ability to communicate well with patients, families, teammates, other healthcare providers, etc. Recognizes legal and policy limits of individual practice. Ensures provision of patient care daily in an organized and timely manner. Adheres to all policies and procedures when providing patient education at check in. Demonstrates knowledge of specific responsibilities in all emergency situations. Demonstrates ability to respond to patient care needs in an emergency situation and under direction of Clinical Leader/Registered Nurse. Provides appropriate interventions related to safety issues according to job position, role and responsibilities and assigned by the Patient Service Representative. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for position. Completes competencies and competencies checklists for ongoing education and training according to job position, role and responsibilities, and according to facility policy and schedule. Completes all documentation to ensure the availability of accurate and up to date information in accordance with established standards. Maintains area/department in an orderly/organized fashion. Performs all other duties as assigned by management.
Teamwork/Accountability/Integrity:
Utilizes time effectively. Follows established facility policies and procedures with regard to attendance. Maintains attendance according to guidelines and policy established by facility. Adheres to tardiness policy. Provides notification for unscheduled absences or tardiness in accordance with established facility policy. Requests scheduled time off according to facility policy and procedure as noted by management. Completes all documentation to ensure the availability of accurate and up to date information in accordance with established standards. Adheres to established facility safety requirements and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Demonstrates to competent usage of proper body mechanics in all activities. Identifies potentially unsafe situations and notifies manager. Completes all employee/patient incident documentation in a thorough and timely manner, as required by facility policy. Demonstrates complete understanding of established emergency procedures for facility. Practices infection control and standard precautions as instructed or trained. Assists with housekeeping tasks as necessary to provide a safe environment for patients, teammates, physicians, guests. Performs all other duties as assigned by manager.
