The Adoptions & Guest Services Coordinator creates a welcoming, organized, and positive experience for everyone who enters or contacts the shelter while helping animals move successfully from shelter care into adoptive homes. This position serves as a key point of contact for adopters, visitors, donors, volunteers, and members of the public and works closely with the Shelter, Behavior, Foster, Medical, and Intake teams to facilitate successful adoptions. Guest Services Provide warm, professional, and knowledgeable service to shelter visitors. Welcome guests and help them navigate the adoption process. Answer phones, emails, and general inquiries promptly and professionally. Maintain an organized and welcoming front desk and lobby. Assist visitors with questions about animals, programs, services, donations, and shelter policies. Manage front-desk schedules and coverage as assigned. Adoptions Guide prospective adopters through the adoption process. Facilitate adoption appointments, meet-and-greets, applications, and related paperwork. Provide accurate information about animals, including information provided by Behavior, Medical, Foster, and Animal Care teams. Follow up with prospective adopters when appropriate. Help identify barriers to adoption and communicate them to the appropriate team. Support adoption events and other placement activities. Maintain accurate adoption records and documentation. Animal Placement Support Maintain awareness of animals currently available for adoption. Work with the Shelter and Behavior teams to ensure adoptable animals are appropriately presented to potential adopters. Identify animals who may benefit from additional promotion, adoption events, foster opportunities, or other placement strategies. Communicate adopter feedback and trends to the appropriate manager. Guest Experience Ensure visitors receive consistent, compassionate, and professional service. Address routine customer concerns and escalate significant concerns appropriately. Help create a positive experience that reflects ACL's mission and values. Monitor the guest experience and identify opportunities for improvement. Administrative Support Maintain accurate records and documentation. Assist with adoption-related reports and tracking. Train guest services and adoption volunteers.
Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
