Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Office Secretary, where your organizational skills and compassionate customer service will be at the forefront of delivering exceptional patient care. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring smooth clinic operations while managing administrative tasks with efficiency and professionalism. Your expertise in medical documentation, billing, and paper health record management will contribute to a seamless healthcare experience for all. Please note that our office does not offer health insurance nor a 401 (k) retirement plan as part of our employee benefits package. Duties Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent front desk customer service and phone etiquette to foster a welcoming environment Schedule appointments accurately Verify patient insurance coverage, process medical collections, and handle billing inquiries with attention to detail in compliance with HIPAA regulations Review and update medical records, ensuring proper documentation review and adherence to clinical confidentiality policies Assist with medical coding including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10 coding, and Medicare billing processes Maintaining accurate documentation of care plans and patient information Perform administrative support tasks such as data entry with 10-key typing skills, managing office supplies, and supporting clinic operations Knowledge or Willing to learn Quickbooks Experience Prior clinic or medical office experience demonstrating proficiency in medical administrative support and office management Strong computer skills with experience Knowledge of health insurance procedures including claims processing and Medicare requirements Familiarity with medical terminology, medical billing, coding (ICD coding), and documentation review processes Excellent customer service skills coupled with phone communication expertise and professional phone etiquette Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively Experience in healthcare environments emphasizing clinical confidentiality policies and health information management Join us to make a meaningful difference in patient care through your organizational talent and dedication! Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 38.0 - 40.0 per week
